The Estuary Ensemble

The "estuary" is the point where a river meets the sea, forming a unique environment for plants and animals that can live in both freshwater and saltwater. Inspired by this concept and their global travels, as well as their research and performances of folk music, Eduardo Scaramuzza established the Estuary Ensemble. The group, comprised of seven musicians from various cultural and musical backgrounds, is committed to celebrating diversity through a fresh repertoire that fuses folk music, Afro-Brazilian jazz, and world music.
The Estuary Ensemble held their debut concert at Tou in Stavanger, Norway, on June 15, 2024. The event was well-attended after a week-long residency at Tou Lyd. During the concert, the group performed eight new compositions by Eduardo Scaramuzza and had local artists join them on stage. In 2025, the Estuary Ensemble will embark on their first tour, performing in Norway and Germany, and preparing to enter the studio to record their debut album.
